About Us
Our names are Paul and Sue Threapleton and we live
in a small village in East Yorkshire, close to the M62 and the M18.
We have both spent our lives surrounded by animals, and have been breeding and showing for more years than we care to remember! We have been probably the most successful
exhibitors of Fancy Rats in recent years, winning the Bradford Championship Show (the NFRS equivalent of the
Supreme) several times between 1999 and 2006. We have also done very well with our Fancy Mice, being in the top 10
exhibitors last year, as well as winning the Mendel Gold Cup, which is solid gold, for the Best Type mouse at the Annual Cup Show in 2005 (pictured
below).
Paul has also bred and shown dogs and rabbits successfully
and neither of us can imagine a life without our pets, because, first and foremost, that is what all of the animals that share our lives
are. We have both always had cats purely as pets but recently we decided to combine our love of cats with our passion for breeding and
started our search for a cat that had both the appearance, and the personality, to appeal to us. With the rats and mice we have a good record
in taking on new, or neglected, varieties and, within several generations, improving them to the point where they can compete for the top
honours. With this in mind we were looking for a relatively "new" breed of cat, where we would have a chance to work with the existing
breeders and feel that our input was worthwhile. We quickly found that all of the breeds that attracted us had two things in common - a
desire for human interaction, and spots!
We eventually decided on the Egyptian Mau or the
Ocicat, and, after months of waiting for the right kittens, we were lucky enough to be offered three lovely girls, all from
leading breeders who had been very successful on the show bench.
We will be breeding for health, temperament and, hopefully, stunning good looks. We will only have an occasional litter, but anyone
interested in one of our cats is welcome to join our waiting list.
